It’s Malabar, it indeed is!
Located in the buzzing locality of Al Nahda, It’s Malabar sure tempted the Malabari in me 😉
On a hot, summer evening, my husband and I decided to try the food here, based on a friend’s recommendation and we weren’t disappointed at all!
My husband was really keen on having prawns, so we decided to order for a prawns starter, more so since the server claimed that it is one amongst their specialities.
Now, there are two kinds of people in the world – the excitable ones and the not-so-excitable ones. My husband falls into the latter category, no prizes for guessing which category I fall into!
The prawns were cooked so well that my not-so-easily-excitable husband quite explicitly appreciated the prawns and lo and behold! he also appreciated and loved the beef curry and appams that followed later, as a part of the main course. The beef curry, according to him, was one amongst the best beef curries that he had had in recent times, which I tell you, is no mean feat. Also, full marks for the presentation of the prawn starter, it looked absolutely delectable and tempting!
Take a bow, It’s Malabar! 😀
I, like a good vegetarian, had the appams and vegetable stew, which was quite good. I am a true blue Malabari and I absolutely love dishes made with coconut milk and if a dish is made well, then I polish it off to its last glob and this was indeed one such dish!

For the uninitiated, appams are these round, lacy pieces of heaven, which with its innocent looks can melt the cruellest of hearts!
As for the servers, they are nice and also indulge in some friendly banter.
So, all in all, It’s Malabar is a pretty good restaurant and should be on your list of restaurants to dine in!
Food: Good-quality, great-tasting Malabari food!
Ambience: 4/5, Good
Service: 4/5, the servers are decent and friendly!
