My love affair with the Lebanese cuisine began sometime in 2014 when I first landed in Dubai, post-marriage and Aroos Damascus was one of the first few restaurants that I had visited during my initial days here. I always thought Lebanese cuisine is only for the non-vegetarians and has nothing to offer to the vegetarians. Needless to say, I was absolutely wrong and had a myopic viewpoint here.

Anyway, I instantly fell in love with the Lebanese cuisine, which was, at that point in time, pretty new to my palate. The love affair that began in 2014 clearly stood the test of time as I am still very much in love with the cuisine as well as with this restaurant!

I have been to Aroos Damascus quite a few times in these four years and have loved my experience here, each time. We visited this restaurant again, a couple of days ago so that I could write a blog on it and tell you how wonderful the food here is! 😀

We ordered the Beiruti Hummus, Garlic Chilli spread, Falafels, Spicy Potato and a Meat Sandwich. The taste of all these items has been top class and consistent in all these years, barring the Spicy Potato that can be either spicy, spicier or not-spicy-at-all, depending on the mood of the Chef! 😉 If you love your brinjals, you could also order this absolutely delicious appetizer called, Baba Ganoush. If you are a salad person, Tabbouleh is a great choice! Now, I am not sure if this is all the vegetarian fare that they have, because, to be honest, I haven’t really asked the servers for vegetarian options other than the ones I usually order.

My husband has had Shawarmas, Meat Sandwiches, Grilled Fish, Grilled Chicken and has always loved it here. Lebanese food is not as spicy as Indian food but is quite flavorful, nonetheless.

I have dined here with my sister, my friends, my husband’s colleagues and everybody has loved the food here.

All in all, Aroos Damascus never disappoints the foodie in you!
