Rajdhani

IMAG3402I have some really fond memories associated with Rajdhani!

Circa 2009 – Being a vegetarian, the meat-loving and thoughtful boyfriend (now husband) decided to take me out on our first date to Rajdhani in Mumbai, and boy! was I wooed! 😉

Cut to 2018 – It has been four glorious years spent in Dubai and I hadn’t visited this restaurant here in Dubai at all! So, my friend and I decided to have our lunch here, one afternoon.

Right from the ambience to the food, the service – just about everything is royal about Rajdhani. As soon as you’re in, a server rushes in with a huge jug of water and a sink/washbowl sort of a thing to help you wash your hands. A thali is best enjoyed when you eat using your hands, after all!

While you’re still wiping your hands with the napkin, a bunch of servers come in one-by-one and start serving all the good food onto your plate. First, come in the starters, mini pattice , dhokla, dal baati churma, the buttermilk, about four to five varieties of sabzi, two kinds of dal, chutneys, kadhi, traditional Indian sweets including the aamras and a lovely assortment of Indian breads like pooris, chapatis, theplas etc to go with. As if this was not enough, you also have two varieties of rice served to you once you’re done with the Indian breads.

With so much of goodness on your plate, it gets really tough to pick and choose the tastiest. Rajdhani is not just about the food, it is an experience that needs to be cherished and enjoyed thoroughly!

Food: Yum, would definitely go back to this place with the husband, next time around.

Ambiance: 4.5/5

Service: 5/5! The service is quick and the servers just keep filling your plate until you give up!
